Day 01 – Arrive in Kathmandu. Transfer to Haatiban Resort (1852m) Meal D
Day 02: Sightseeing of KTM Durbar Square, Boudhanath and Pashupatinath O/N Haatiban Resort
Day 03 – Excursion of ChampaDevi and Dakshinkali A full morning excursion to Champadevi Hill (2278m) after breakfast. On a fine day the panoramic view of the Himalayas is quite amazing, from Manaslu all way to Everest. Afternoon drive to Pharping (1680m) , a small town the site of Sekh Narayan Temple, dedicated to Vishnu, the temple is at the base of an over hanging cliff. Above the village stand the 17th century Vajra Yogini Temple dedicated to the tantric Goddess Vajra Yogini or Durga. Further higher is the Padmasambhava Cave where Padmasambhava attained realization. The Pharping Monastery comes under the Nyingmapa sect of Buddhism. Over night Haatiban Resort(6hrs)
Day 04: Excursion to UNSECO heritage villages of Khokana and Bungamati and the Patan Durbar Square. Drive down from the resort to Bansbari (1510m), then walk through Khokana(1360m), a typical Newari village famous for its mustard oil mills. Visit the 17th century Rudrayani Temple, a three storied pagoda style temple. Further along visit the world famous wood carving village of Bungamati (1405), a traditional village that dates to the 16th century. Bungamati is the birthplace of Rato Machhendranath. He is regarded as the patron guardian of the valley. There is a shikhara -style temple in the middle of the village square. The local diety supposedly spends six months a year in this temple and the other six months in the Rato Machhendranath Temple in Patan.
Day 05 – Swoyambhunath and Drive to Summit River Lodge ( 400m)( 3- 4hrs Drive) Drive form the resort to Syambhunath (1hr), Drive from KATHMANDU along a scenic highway through the middle hills, descending to the Trisuli River and along its banks to Kurintar, a journey of approximately 3 hours. Leave your vehicle this side of the river and cross it on a pedestrian bridge spanning the river to the village of Thuguwatar-on-Trisuli. The village homes are strung out along the edges of a flat, fertile expanse of farmland, the forested hills clothing their northern slopes. Walk through the village for about 30 minutes to reach your accomodation for the night, an isolated spur of the hills that slopes down steeply towards the Trisuli River, with great views of natural forest looking across the flowing waters to the terraced fields across and the enclosing mountains all around. For those interested in rafting, they will stop at Majhimtar, from here it is 14 km down the river, approx time of 3 hrs, where they will be dropped at the banks of the river just below the lodge. Day 06: Excursion to Manakamana Temple (1300m) Walk Time (3 -4 hrs) After breakfast, we shall walk back to the Highway and get back in our vehicle. A 45 minute drive will bring us to the town on Abu Khaireni from where we shall start our walk, worn through the ages by the feet of many pilgrims long, long before the advent of the cable car. The walk is over some terrain covered with tangerine and other citrus gardens to the mountain-top shrine of Manakamana, the Wish-Fulfilling Goddess of primeval times. The temple itself is old though the town that has grown around it is very new and a consequence of the cable car installation. Here the shrine is attended by Magar tribal priests and not the traditional Brahmin that usually are custodians of most Hindu temples ! On certain days of the week, pilgrims sacrifice goats to appease the Goddess or less bloodily, release pigeons in her honour, seeking her acquiescence to their desires ! A trail descends to the Valley below, Return back by Cable car 10 minute ride down, where at the base, your vehicle will wait to drive you back . O/N Summit River Lodge ( 6hrs)
Day 07: Early morning drive (8 am) Drive to Chitwan National Park ( 3hrs)After breakfast, we shall walk back to the Highway and get back in our vehicle. A 3hrs drive will bring us to the the border of the National Park, where we shall begin our Jungle activities. Elephant-back safari: Guests will ride on elephant to explore the jungle and wildlife the one-horned rhinoceros, several types of deer, monkeys, wild boar, bison, sloth bear, leopard and, if lucky, the Royal Bengal tiger. This exciting ride lasts for 2-3 hours. Slide presentation in the evening by one of our jungle experts who will introduce background data and history of the Royal Chitwan National Park as well as some other topics relating to wildlife. Your questions are most welcome. O/N Machan Paradise View After breakfast, we shall walk back to the Highway and get back in our vehicle. Later, Elephant briefing programme: Learn more about these fascinating animals during a visit to our elephant stables. Afternoon: Jeep Safari/ Canoeing: Drive to Kasara, the head quarter of The Royal Chitwan National Park to see the Gharial (Alligator) hatchery project, founded by Frankfurt Zoological Society. After a short briefing about the project, drive to the oxbow lakes (Lami Tal & Tamar Tal) by Land Rover through dense sal forest to encounter various plants and other wildlife. And brief walk to the canoeing put in point. Start canoeing in a traditional dug-out canoe which takes you on a silent trip down the Rapti River to view aquatic birds, crocodiles and the animals of the river banks. Evening Tharu Stick dance: Farmers of the nearby villages will show some of their traditional skills and dances. O/N Machan Paradise View

Day 09: Drive to Pokhara. After Breakfast drive to Pokhara , Once checked in , take a boat ride across the Phewa Lake and visit the famous Brindawasini Temple, located right in the middle of the Lake.O/N Sampada Inn
Day 10: Walk to Peace Pagoda Today we will go on an excursion to the Paece Pagoda, situated on a hill above the Pokhara valley, with magnificient views on the Annapurna range and the Phewa Lake below. O/N Sampada Inn
Day 11: Fly to Kathmandu We take the morning flight to Kathamndu, in the afternoon, some leisure time O/N Yak and Yeti Hotel Day 11: InternationalDeparture. |
