The Summit River Lodge our latest venture into the middle hills of the Nepal Himalaya.The lodge lies on the banks of the Trishuli River, 100 kms from Kathmandu or Pokhara, making it equidistant fromboth these centers of Nepalese Tourism. The lodge of just 7 rooms,clusters around a colonial-style bungalow that sits on a ridge amidst tropical forested middle hills,sloping down to the sand beaches of the river. Forest cascade down the the hillsides, enclosing tiny settlements of aboriginal tribes. Accomodation is simple, but comfortable, plenty of space to relax in private, read, meditate and enjoy the clean clear air, the soothing ripple of the Trishuli's water flowing below ...... Guests are housed in weo blocks of rooms, all ensuite with hot and cold showers ever available. For the nature enthusiast, there are walks into the hills behind to visit the village homes of the Chepang and Magar, a winding gorgr aong a boulder-strewn stream,cascades of pollution free springs falling into crystal pools, an excursion to check out the pligrimage site of Manakamana ............. or just putyour feet up and unwind! |
