Overnight – Summit Lodges – LuklaDay

10 : Trek to Monjo ( 2850m 5 -6 hrs)
Our day begin's early enough to avoid the big crowd coming in from Kathmandu and returnee's on the way out. Bypass several villages before making a lunch stop at a beautiful spot alongside the Thada Koshi River below the base of the Kusum Kangru Himal. The second half of the trek to Monjo does not take more than 3 hours. The next big tourist village on the way to Monjo is Phakding. The entire walk from Lukla to Monjo is mostly easy walking over gentle up and down hills. Memories of the first day will include the sounds of porters with transistor radios, a cacophony of different languages, and strange sounding birds, the sights of porters with loads resting on sticks outside tea houses, tired trekkers on their way back to Lukla, prayer flag poles, the gaudy colors of the tea houses and of course the dramatic scenery. Overnight – Summit Lodge Monjo

Day 11 :Trek to TASHINGA (3450 m) 5 /6hrs.
Five minutes walk from the lodge and you enter into Everest National Park area, where entry formalities have to be completed. Today will be one of the harder days of the trek but we take it slowly, enjoying the scenery as you climb gradually up to Namche Bazar. Along the way there are two suspension bridges to cross as you zig zag the Dudh Koshi River before you are at the base of the climb to Namche. The trail to Namche Bazar is a well-marked, comfortable broad to trail. Walking in the cool part of the morning it is easier to breath and get used to the increasing altitude. After an easy paced three hour's of walk you arrive at the heart of Khumbu - Namche Bazar (3,450 mts). A well-deserved break is planned for lunch and to look around this interesting small town. From Namche the trail to Tashinga follows the classical approach route to Everest. Follow the almost level, winding traiI for about 2.5 hours before we take a slight detour from the main trail and arrive at the lodge with the next 15 minutes. Overnight Summit Lodge Tashinga

Day 12 : Day excursion to TENGBOCHE Monastery (3,873 m) 5 /6 hrs
Across the valley from the lodge, one can see the trail sloping diagonally up towards the famous monastery of Thyangboche. The day begins with a descent to the small hamlet of Phunki Tenga, beside the Dudh Kosi. From here we cross a suspension bridge before beginning a steep ascent for about an hour. This part of the trek is quite heavily forested by rhododendron and pine, so it is well shaded and cool. Once out of the forest, the trail becomes gentle and gradual for another 1.5 hours, all the way up to the monastery. The setting of Thyangboche is magical and it is incredible to think that the temple was burned down a few years ago and re-built largely through the efforts of the Sir Edmund Hillary Trust. After lunch and explorates of the monastery and its surroundings, return to Tashinga for the night. Overnight Summit Lodge Tashinga

Day 13 : Return to Monjo
Retrace your steps back to Monjo, stopping at Namche for last minute souvenir hunting. After lunch descent down the trail to the already familiar Lodge. Overnight Summit Lodge

A visit to the Gumila monastery on the way before we cross the river for the last time and arrive at Ghat. After the lunch at Tadi Koshi it is not too long before we make it back to Lukla for the last night in Everest country. Overnight : Summit Lodge Lukla
